The Continuous Journeys of Life
Have you ever noticed that life is a series of journeys of going from point A to point B?
At point A, you get ready to depart, then you go through passaging, the journey itself and finally, arrive at point B. The circle repeats with point B now being the new Point A, the origin. Sometimes, we spend longer time at Point B, sometimes its just a quick stop.
Let's walk through an average day. You get up from your bed (Point A) and go to the bathroom (Point B). You clean up and get ready for your morning exercise. You head to your terrace, balcony, gym or perhaps hit the road or the park to do your morning routine (Point B). After finishing, you go back home (Point B) to get ready for school, college or work. From home to work (Point B), on your choice of transit, you head out, occasionally in a hurry.
Now you spend a huge portion of our day at school, college or work. You go through the daily routine of classes, meetings and work on the laptop or in the field, occasionally making a move from one place to another, a small journey. Finally, at the end of the day, you head back home (Point B) for dinner and rest. Perhaps a bit of Netflix.
These journeys, broken throughout the day by the arrivals at our destination, our Point Bs, always seem so continuous. We are more focused on reaching, on making it to the end. Have you ever wondered why we are in a hurry to reach?
The truth is, what we perceive as continuous movement between the points are actually a number of discrete moments strung together, each one worth cherishing. Sometimes, taking a moment to slow down and appreciate the journey can be just as important as reaching the destination. We can learn and grow from the experiences we have along the way, and these moments can shape who we are and how we view the world.
It's also important to remember that the journey is not always a straight line from point A to point B. There may be detours, roadblocks, and unexpected surprises that come up along the way. Embracing these moments and adapting to change can make the journey more fulfilling and meaningful.
So, next time you find yourself rushing to reach your destination, take a moment to appreciate the journey itself. You may be surprised at how much more rewarding it can be.
